A Labelled Diagram of The Human Tongue |
When we talk
about the tongue, what comes to your mind? Is it just an ordinary muscular taste
organ or is there more to the usage of the tongue other than taste?
The tongue is a
muscular HYDROSTAT in the mouth; it
is covered with pink moist tissue called MUCOSA.
Its rough texture is a result of tiny bumps called PAPILLAE which is sensitive and kept moist by saliva and is richly
supplied with nerves and blood vessels.
